Euskal Barrok Ensemble

Euskal Barrok Ensemble is a group of a varied formation of musicians which was founded at the beginning of 2006 and is made up of young talented musicians from all over the world who are interested  in Ancient Music. The conductor and founder Enrike Solinís, after having affirmed his international career at the heart of some of the most prestigious formations specialized in Ancient Music such as: Hesperion XXI, Le Concert des Nations, Concerto Vocale, Le Concert d´Astrée, decided to combine the great talent and the skills  of its members with the enthousiam and freshness of the interpretations, combining a wide repertoire of music – ancient, classical and popular music while at the same time presenting the music in an intimate and creative way with the least possible preconception.

Euskalbarrokoensemble has been acclaimed by both critics and the general public for their many different concerts, including those held at the : Festival of Música Antigua in Zenarruza, Palais Euskalduna in Bilbao the ´Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Lekeitio Festival, Baroque Festival in Montréal (Canada) and at the Spring Festival in Prague ( Czech Republic). He has recorded  a live DVD with the soprano María Espada and the programme in Furore for the recording company Zortzi Kantua.

Enrike Solinís

Born in Bilbao in 1974, Enrike Solinís Azpiazu studied guitar and early music at the Conservatorio Superir de Música J.C Arriaga in Bilbao and the Escola Superir de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona. Winner of numerous international awards, including the International Competitions in Comillas, the International Conpetition Ataulfo Argenta and the International Competition Andrés Segovia, he is considered one of the greatest virtuosos of his generation. Hi is always been attracted by music from different cultures, regions, and times, which makes his way of playing and his conception of music personal and unique.

Over the years, Enrike has been invited as a soloist and continuoist by many ensembles on period instruments like Hesperion XXI, Le Concert des Nations, The Capella Reial de Catalunya conducted by Jordi Savall, Concerto Vocale and the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin conducted by René Jacobs, Le Concert D’Astrée conducted by Emmanuelle Haïm, appearing in some of the most important European and American venues, like the Carnigie Hall in New York, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Théâtre des Champs Élysées in Paris, the Theater an der Wien, the Sala Nezahualcoyoti in Mexico, the Festival Leo Brouwer in La Havana.

He also directs his own baroque ensemble, Euskal Barrokensemble founded in Bilbao in 2006.
